Migration to PMWEB

Move from Oracle Aconex and Oracle Unifier to PMWEB.

For owners who want correspondence, documents, cost and contracts in one PMIS instead of two or three platforms. CMCS plans and delivers the move, so your history comes with you and your teams keep working while it happens.

Why owners move

One system of record instead of several.

When documents sit in one platform, cost in another and contracts in spreadsheets, every report is a reconciliation. In PMWEB, correspondence, RFIs, change, commitments, invoices and payments are linked records in one database, with the approval history behind each one.

Cost and contracts

Budget to final account

Approved estimate, budget, commitments, change, progress invoices and payments in one cost structure, integrated with your ERP.

Governance

Delegation of authority enforced

Approvals routed by role and value threshold, exactly as your DoA matrix defines them, with a complete audit trail.

What moves

What comes across, and where it lands in PMWEB.

From Oracle Aconex

Correspondence and documents as structured records

  • Mail and correspondence registers to PMWEB correspondence, RFIs and instructions
  • Document registers, revisions and transmittals to PMWEB document control
  • Review and approval history kept with each record
  • RFIs linked to the schedule, change and claims in PMWEB
From Oracle Unifier

Business processes and cost into PMWEB modules

  • Business processes mapped to PMWEB forms and workflows
  • Cost sheets, budgets and commitments to the PMWEB cost structure
  • Change, payment applications and invoices with their history
  • Project, programme and portfolio structures rebuilt in PMWEB

How CMCS does it

Five steps, with new work never on hold.

  1. 01

    Assess the source

How the data is held, its structure, volume and consistency across projects, before any migration scope is committed.

  2. 02

    Map to PMWEB

Every source register, process and field mapped to PMWEB modules and confirmed in the BRD.

  3. 03

    Start new work in PMWEB

PMWEB is programme-scoped, so new programmes can go live straight away while legacy projects move in stages.

  4. 04

    Migrate and reconcile

Data extracted, transformed and loaded, with AI assistance where it helps, then reconciled against the source.

  5. 05

    Retire the source

Users trained, the source platform switched to read-only or archived, and licences released.

Questions

Migrating to PMWEB: common questions.

Do we have to migrate everything before we start?

No. PMWEB is programme-scoped, so new programmes can go live in PMWEB straight away while legacy projects move in stages, or stay read-only in the source.

Is the approval history kept?

Yes. Review and approval history is migrated with each record, so the audit trail continues in PMWEB.

Can we keep Aconex for design documents?

Yes, if that suits you. PMWEB integrates with Aconex, Autodesk ACC, SharePoint and Egnyte, so design teams can keep working in a CDE while PMWEB holds the governed record of contracts, cost and change.

Can AI do the migration?

AI helps with mapping, classification and cleansing, but it does not replace understanding how the source data is held. Every migration is reconciled against the source.

What happens to the old platform?

Once data is reconciled and users are trained, the source platform is switched to read-only or archived, and its licences can be released.
